So where do I begin? Well before I let you know more about me, let me tell about this site and why I created it.
This purpose and intention of this blog is to be a repository and collection of my current thoughts. It’s a place to share my hobbies and current understandings and conceptions of this world as I progress and move forward in life. As we grow, we change, and as we change we evolve, hopefully become a better people through the process. I hope to use this site as a way to check in and monitor that progress, and also use as an archive of where I have been, and maybe help to determine where I am going.
Okay, now some basic info on me! I am 31 years old, happily married, AND about to become a father in early 2012! I am also a brother, uncle, friend, and nerd. I currently live in South Nyack, New York. Although I believe our profession is not what defines us, during the working hours of the day I spend time coding and nerding it up at Barnes & Noble as a Frontend Developer. I also own and run a small web solutions company that goes by the name: Zoolu Web.
I am obsessed with healthy living and fitness, web development, politics, and theoretical physics and science (think String Theory, Time Travel, etc). In addition, I am also interested in comparative religion, philosophy, cooking, and playing music. There are more things I would love to know how to do or become better at, but I will save those for another time. So that beings said, “I like stuff“.
One thing I hope to make clear is that I am in no means an expert in anything.
I love to learn and plan on being a “student” my whole life. What I know at any given moment is based on what I have experienced at that particular point in time. New events will arise; I will meet new people and read new books who inspire and inform me. As I continue to fall deeper into the rabbit hole (yes that is a good thing) I will hopefully unravel more truths and begin to form a new model of reality. So what does this mean exactly? To be short – I know nothing! Or perhaps it means I may have a different attitude and opinion tomorrow. I may seem like a new person next you see me. Does that make me a hypocrite? No! Does it make me an idiot? Sometimes
It’s okay to change ones mind. I’ts okay to be wrong. I plan on being wrong a lot, as is often the case. I just hope to learn from my mistakes and in the end be a smarter more informed member of society. To achieve this, I look to surround myself with good honest people who can challenge and inspire me to be that better, smarter, more humble man I want to become. Maybe this blog can also help me with that objective. As the late great Joseph Campbell once said, “Follow your bliss.“
